BAUMA 15 – 21.04.2013

The world’s largest fairs for construction and mining BAUMA 2013 in Munich has just finished. The capital of Bavaria attracted as usual the worlds giants from the construction and mining industry. It was the third time DFM ZANAM – LEGMET participated in BAUMA. This year the company’s development was clearly reflected in the quality of our exhibition. We had 2 booths. The first one, inside mining hall C2 was designed to have business meetings, which covered meetings with our customers, both present and potential ones and suppliers. We have had a lot of conversations, which may have only positive results for our company. The outside booth was located just at the entrance to the hall C2 and perfectly corresponded to our inside booth. Out LHD 1601B and a haul truck CB4 – 20TB were the best choice to take to the fairs. Our machines set up in a very attractive way attracted crowds of visitors, some of whom could not believe that such giants could work underground. A lot of questions were asked concerning essential components of our machines as well as condition they might operate. BAUMA helped to establish new contacts, meet our business partners and talk about future ways of cooperation.

Ceremonial opening of the new line for the manufacture of anchors

On the 26^th of February a ceremonial opening of the new line for the manufacture of anchors was held. It was the culmination and a summary of the project initiated in 2010.

Then the Management Board of the company decided to implement the project, whose main aim was to gain the total own anchors production process, modernization of machinery park and increase of sales. The project also covered the introduction of new technological processes and partial automation of machinery currently being in use, which should result in improving the quality of the product. The current production capacity is 1.6 million sets of anchors per year.

The ribbon – cutting ceremony was made the Vice President of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Wojciech Kędzia and our company's Management Board: the President Jacek Kardela, along with the Vice President Jacek Golonka.

Audit in our compamy

From the 14th to the 19th of January the renewal audit of Integrated Management System was carried out in our company. Auditors positively assessed the functioning of the system and they will come out to the Polish Centre for Testing and Certification to renew the Certificate that covers:
-Quality Management System according to the PN-EN ISO 9001,
-Environmental Management according to the PN-EN ISO 14001,
-Health and Safety Management according to the PN-N-18001.
The requirements of Integrated Management System are obligatory in all activities of the company (production and services) and in all units. The Audit also covered an assessment of the implementation of the Integrated System Management in new areas of the company, that is, services in the field of mining works, construction and underground transport.

DFM ZANAM-LEGMET Sp. z o.o. is one of the largest Polish manufacturers of machinery and equipment for mining sector.
The company produces as well equipment applied in reloading and transportation systems, quarrying and open-pit mines. Moreover DFM Zanam-Legmet is significant producer of cast-steel and cast-iron castings.

The current company’s offer includes following categories of products and services: mining machines, belt conveyors, crushers, steel constructions, castings, bolts, flotation machines, shafts’ equipment, service, overhauls and maintenance.

For many years the company has been a major supplier of mining machines and equipment for mines and companies belonging to KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. capital group. It also delivers equipment and services to other methane-free underground mines in Poland – salt, zinc and lead mines.

DFM Zanam-Legmet sells its products to foreign customers : Russia, Kazakhstan and Germany. ZANAM-LEGMET's products are also in France, Estonia, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Pakistan. The company constantly develops its international distribution network.

DFM ZANAM-LEGMET Sp. z o.o. was established in 2003 after the merger of two companies with long traditions - Dolośląska Fabryka Maszyn ZANAM Sp. z o.o. and Zakłady Mechaniczne Legmet Sp. z o.o.. The new company changed its name into Dolnośląska Fabryka Maszyn ZANAM-LEGMET sp. z o. o. The headquarters is located in Polkowice and whole production potential in Polkowice and Legnica. The company employs currently  about 2400 workers.
